This toy is a powerful tool for both parents and educators to help kids develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and cognitive skills. It is based on principles of the Montessori teaching method. The magnetic pieces can be picked one by one to develop grasping and set a foundation for writing skills. Each number has a corresponding pole where discs can be set to match the numbers and colors on each column; this helps kids associate numbers with the respective quantities. Some of the variations also have the alphabet in bright, fun colors. The whole set is made as a puzzle, which adds even more value to this toy.
